Have been going in circles for some time with this.
Installing RedHat on networked machine. 2 pc's are windows and 3rd is redhat 7 on fresh install from iso's burnt to disc. RedHat is networked in from hub and one windows machine is the server at this time. It will connect to the internet fine. Im trying to install this program ( http://www.plesk.com/home.php ) to set up a www server for myself. Since i know nothing about the server capabilities in linux or compiling for that matter, i think this would make it much easier for me if i could just get it to install. I am running everything from KDE. As root its telling me that im missing a file when i try to run the script. File "inetd.conf" and to please install it. What is this and how do i install it. If im thinking right it has something to do with the fact that the system is networked off windows and it is confugured using DHCP during install of RedHat. Please any info would be better than none.

Looks like what's happening is while compiling it's looking for the config file for your inet daemon (handles network functions) - inetd.conf. I checked out their download page and all of their versions for redhat are for rh6.x, not for 7.0. It might be that the config file is in a different place in 7.0.

Boy oh Boy.....
Thanks a million, you were so right. Downloaded RedHat 6.2 and plesk installed with out any real troubles. Now on to the next configuring problem.
Durring install it took my networked ip only. I can log into it from the network but nobody else can log through the internet using my ip couse its a local ip its running on. Any one else posibly help with this one?
Is this a good idea? I was thinking of getting lyncsys cable/dsl router to run the networt instead of the hub system im running on now. Would this start me heading in the right direction? If no, my next step is to get another nic that redhat will detect durring install and making it the master on the network, and for internet in the network. I have a card as internet IN on this one that i have gotton linux drivers for but dont know how to load them.

Thanks Very much for the help Evil Jeff and any other who attemp to bring me further.

If I remember right, RH doesn't try and autodetect nics during install... it just gives you all the nic modules and lets you choose which one you want to use using linuxconf.

As far as changing the ip that plesk uses, I'm not really sure. I've never used plesk... If you read it's man pages or help files online, I'm sure it will tell you what the config program for it is, or at least where your configuration file is so you can edit it manually.

When i install redhat it shows me card one and i can configure it there but i dont since im on cable and i think it uses dhcp from network or connection or something. I install using the grafical setup . Now, when i was installing redhat 7 about 20 times it would never pick up any of the other 3 cards i have in the other systems durring install. Im going to try today to add second one in and hope i can get both to show durring another install and see if i can get the thing running off main ip and have the network set-up to run 2 windows of the redhat system.
Reraltec card works fine. Linksys(NC100v2) and 2 3com 3c450 adapters are what im working with. If i cant get any other to work along with the setup ill have to research installing drivers for the linksys card. I have the linux drivers on floppy for it but have no clue, as you may already know about installing things.
