Strike 11-24-2000, 04:14 PM This forum is for general Linux questions, not BeOS questions. BeOS and Linux are quite different. Beowulf_Ghost 11-24-2000, 04:30 PM First off, I need to know what video card you're using. Make sure it's listed as being supported hardware. http://www.be.com/support/guides/beosreadylist_intel.html A temporary solution is to boot into safe mode. While BeOS is still booting (Durning the splash screen), hold down the space bar. It will give you a menu, from which you can choose various booting options. The one you want to set is safe mode. Or more specifically, a safe video mode. If booting using safe video works, your display will most likely be 640x480 and grayscale. Basicaly, safe video loads the lowest common denominator. From this point, you can use BeOS, but it will suck. Safe video eats up half your CPU, and everything looks like crap. But from this point, you can go to www.bebits.com (http://www.bebits.com) and look for drivers that may fix your video card. Unless of cource, your card is supported. Then you have some other problem. Strike has a point. BeOS questions should be posted to "Other Unix based OS's. Thats's where most of the BeOS gurus answer things. ------------------ Silence is Foo! ------------------ "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." - Ben Franklin, ~1784 http://www.lp.org justlinux.com
