How can I turn off the power management so that my Monitor won't turn off. Thanks pbharris 05-29-2001, 05:05 PM in xfree86 3.3.x use xset -dpms in an init file, that may also work in xfree86 4.0.x, in xfee86 4.0 i use Option "DPMS" -so make sure that line is not in there. linuxtimmy 06-01-2001, 05:08 PM Ok, I tried that but still the display turns off into a blank screen before the screensaver even pops up. I disable the screensaver as well. I used xset q to check status and DPMS is disabled. Any other suggestions? That would have been my suggestion until I scrolled down and saw that David had already posted it. The first place I would look would be the BIOS. linuxtimmy 06-05-2001, 10:21 PM tried that. The Bios DPMS is disabled as well. xset -q returns dpms disabled as well.... Anymore suggestions? linuxtimmy 06-12-2001, 03:07 AM Tried everything now and still no joy... please help bdg1983 06-12-2001, 06:49 AM ??? Are you using KDE? maybe Gnome? Is there anything in the KDE Control Centre that may have a setting for power management? Not sure what it would be for Gnome. Checked the docs and faq's at www.kde.org?
