Hello, I am new to Linux, and am having all kinds of trouble connecting to the internet with Linux through a DSL connection. I use a 3com Ethernet card (PCI), and I can get Linux to find it.
If anyone has had any experience with DSL+Internet+Linux(Mandrake 7.x), please help me. I dont really know where to begin.

I do not use DSL myself.
I would suggest you search the forums here for 3Com, DSL etc. A very popular subject here and you should be able to find what you need.

First you need to know what model # the card is. After that check the device manager in windows to make sure that your ethernet card is not sharing an IRQ with anything else in your system. Once you've got that figured out, download Roaring Penguins PPPOE software and install it. It will guide you through the setup and you should be ready to roll(you'll need some basic I.P. info for your DSL connection). Keep asking questions and reading the NHF's.
