can't lock /root/.ICEauthority [Archive]

I just installed XF86 4.01, and had everyhting working fine. Then I tried to get my Intellimouse Explorer working, using the NHF. Now, when I try to start X, I get an error message that says I can't lock /root/.ICEauthority. I am new to Linux, and would appreciate ANY help.
