This isn't really a hard question. I just was wondering if there's any difference between using apt-get to download all the stuff from the stable directory to upgrade from slink versus installing potato off of a burned CD (besides the fact that installing would erase all the stuff I did personally)?

Yeah. Apt-getting it would take a lot longer.

On that note, I did install Slink from CD. I edited my sources.list file to point to Debian2.2r1. I then did apt-get update and then apt-get dist-upgrade. The results were something like: 363 packages to be upgraded, 45 newly installed, 9 to be removed and 14 not upgraded.
Granted, it will take awhile, but apt-get rules.
P.S. Is it quicker and/or better to install slink from CD then apt-get or to download the ISO and install from the hard drive ?

Probably depends on how fast your connection is, if you've got a fast *** connection go ahead and apt-get it, if you don't have a fast connection I guess getting the cd would be quicker, I'd rather have the cd anyway for building new systems.
