I just installed RedHat7.0 on my comp, which has windows Me on it, and at the last moments of the actual installing (not configuring), an error flashed to the background-screen (textmode install), and was partly covered by a window (normal, asking about x settings or something)..
The parts that were visible:
Device 0x0302 ...(window covered this part)...exceeds 1024...
And, at the beginning, I couldn't start the graphical install with an error "No screens found". This also was a fatal error when trying to startx.
Plus, after booting back to windows, I see that there are no detected cd drives anymore! Windows add/remove hardware cannot even find them. I have a "normal" cd drive, and then a cd-r drive, both of which worked fine before this.
Some system info, if needed: I have one hard drive, about 45gb size. Used partition magic to shrink the only partition there was (it was the very only partition) to about 40gb, leaving 5gb to Linux. Installed using a floppy and 2 redhat cd's (only one was needed). The same method of installing worked fine on my other comp.
Am I in trouble? Any clues how to get everything back as they were?
