Both my "Dead-Rat" boxes I have screensaver enable and power saver disabled and yet the monitors will shut off when logged in as a regular user but the screensavers will work as root and the monitors will not shut off... actually they don't shut off they go black. I have the power saver feature disabled. I saw the answer in here a while ago but after looking last night for 6 hours I gave up. Any ideas?

Maybe here (http://www.redhat.com/support/docs/faqs/rhl_general_faq/FAQ-4.html) will help. Go to the section labeled ' 4.32 Screen Blanking '. I hope this helps.

for xfree86 4.0 in the mointer section add :
Option "-dpms" or ssomething similar.

in xfree86 3.3.6 use xset -dpms
