Man, this problem has been haunting me since I first started using linux. Nobody, here or elsewhere, has any idea what could be causing it, but I'll give it another go. Here's the prob. When I include apm support in the kernel it puts my computer into sleep mode during boot. As soon as I press a key to wake it back up it continues booting fine, but what a pain in the ***. I've disabled all the APM crap in the bios. I've tried just about everything. My only theory on the cause of this is that I think it might have something to do with the setting of the system clock from the hardware clock on boot because it's always happened at about the time the setting clock message pops up. If anybody has any, I mean ANY idea what this could be caused by and how I could try to fix it PLEASE let me know. I'm desperate. I would just go without APM, but I need it because it's a laptop. Thanks for any attempt at this crazy problem.
