For the 3rd time....I am trying to get my network card working under Linux and I am having no luck at all. I thought for sure that the latest release of Red Hat would find it with no problem...but thats not the case. On bootup...it just beeps and then gives a few messages about the card and then goes on to boot the system. My laptop is a IBM ThinkPad 770E with a Xircom Cardbus Ethernet 100 + Modem 56. The OS is Red Hat 7.1 with Kernel 2.4.2-2.....please help me...you are my only hope..hehe.. :)

I've never used Red Hat on my laptop.
I use Debian on a Compaq Armada.

The 2.4 kernel now supports PCMCIA.
The problem as I understand it is you need
the pcmcia-cs package for the drivers.

If it comments on your card during boot the PCMCIA device are probably installed properly. Investigate if the latest pcmcia-cs package to see if it supports RealPort cards.
It supports other Xircom cards as I use a
Xircom 10/100 card.

Good Luck,
