I just installed Mandrake 7.1 on my work
machine - no probs but it mounted my windoze partitions (c & d) and now I can't access d under win98. The machine has 2 hd's the first has one partition with win98 and the second hd's first partition (logical) was d and the second & third are linux. I can still access d under linux but not windows. Partition Magic 5 sees it as a type 85 partition.

Any idears?

use fdisk in linux.

fdisk /dev/hdb [I don't know if this is what it is, i'm just guesing]

t

1

L

Look for the one that says FAT32 and type that in. I think it is c

w

That should be it. Windows should see that partion now.

If you want to know what those commands do, just hit m at the fdisk prompt. It will give you a list of commands.

Tried that... didn't seem to work. So I setup Samba and backed up everything across the network and formatted the stupid windoze drive. Thanks anyways =)

I think I'm gonna give VMWare a spin... sick of windoze all together but there are apps there I need for the ISP. =(
