I am very new, i did get installed and used bootmagic to dual boot and that all worked fine, but everytime i boot up linux mandrake it would come up with a screen that said it was uninstalling mouse, cddrive, and so on. then when i would get in it would all work. i chose not to interact with that process once, i.e. i let the timer run out, and now no mouse, no keyboard nada, i had to reset just to get out of linux, is there anyway to keep from having to reinstall linux or am i sol?

What kind of mouse etc. are you using? Was it detected during the install properly?

Have you tried to reconfigure X and you mouse/keyboard?

XF86Setup
or
Xconfigurator
or
xf86config

Also try "mouseconfig". That will give you some options.
