Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : Help setting up anonymous FTP folder
I am running a Cobalt Qube linux server. Can't get Anonymous FTP to work properly, and all the tutoirials i've tried are too complex. I know that non-anonymous FTP is working fine.
thanks,

I have never touched one of the cubes! But here goes anyways. I am not sure what flavor of Linux it runs but if it is red hat based, is the anonftp rpm installed (there might be an equivilent for deb based distros??)
On Red Hat or distros based on it you just have to install the anonftp package and it takes care of everything else for you (directory structure, user, permissions, etc)

Try man ftpd and man ftpaccess - together they go over configs and such - it doesn't look too terrible. You will probably want to use a chroot environment as well.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT INSTALL ANY RPMS ON A COBALT MACHINE !!
everything on the cube is a webbased control panel
you just click and for anonymous users, or thats how it is on a raq system (which are p.o.s. anyways)
