Changing settings in KPPP

I would like to know how one can change the method of dialing(tone or pulse) in KPPP. Please note that I am not talking about RP3-the GNome dialer.In RP3 this is very easy but how is it done if KPPP is being used

Click on Setup -> Modem -> Modem Commands
Change Dial String to
ATDT for tone or
ATDP for pulse
