Whenever I dial up to my ISP I get a message saying no dial tone.My modem has been sucessfully set up.

If you have a phone available pick up the receiver and start your dialer and listen for the modem <click>. If you don't hear the <click> then perhaps you have a bad connection or bad phone cord.
