Hi

I am thinking of setting up a Linux box to learn Linux and Unix.

I have an old P 200 computer with all the hardware in it dating back to the time when P200 was a powerful processor.

What is the availability of hardware drivers for hardware that is 4 or 5 years old?

Or can only new computers run RedHat Linux or KDE?

I do not want to run just a command driven setup of Linux.

thanks

Haggis

I know a guy whos run Linux with Xfree on a P120 with 16 mb of ram (and it works just fine). Your P200 should work fine, but of course, if you want X, you'll have to find an X server that supports your video card (but your card should be supported).

Here's a site I found while searching for drivers:
http://www.driverguide.com/

(Free registration required)

You can search the driver listings for "linux" so you don't have to sift through all the Windows listings.
