alright i deleted windows from my comp(and the partitions). i am going to be getting mandrake 7.2 tomorrow. I have an old caldera open linux cd here. version 1.3 i think it is, from 98(with kde 1 etc.). I was going to install caldera to the comp until i got my mandrake box. i put the right partitions in and the installation goes fine. everything is great until i have to configure the x window system through the prompt. i go through the configuration as the instructions said, and it wouldnt startx or kde. thats not the problem. the problem is that i paniced and deleted the new partitions i made for caldera. so im now back to having no partitions. i panic and get my master disk that either restores the comp to its original state, or just formats and installs win95. i made the full partition on the C: drive. the installation goes through and finishes. i reboot like it says, and it boots up the caldera prompt again. so the question is... how do i get caldera out of my system and boot back into win95(i was using win98 before i deleted it)? if your wondering, my comp is a 200mhz 13gig hd 32mb ram 2mb video card, and im not at my house, but will stay here until someone helps me :P thanks...

Hi:
Can you get into Caldera at the CLI?

If so, use cfdisk to delete the ext2 partitions, etc. The3n reboot with a DOS disk and do fdisk/mbr.

You'll then be able to install whatever you like...DOS, Win, *nix. I realise this may not be the quickest or most elegant way to do it, it will work.

i dunno. i get to the prompt where it says boot:

then i can type in the image thing. then it gives me the normal fast gibberish and comes up with some kind of error soon after. (because of no partition i guess) but is that what you mean?
