Released in 1997. Somehow, I think even WINE is more up-to-date than that. Think about everything that has happened _since_ 97 in M$-world - Win98, WinME, Win2k, WinXP.

Don't even think Half-Life was out in 97

I would be happy if it would run "turbo tax"
so I wouldn't have to to my taxes at work every year! Wine won't run turbo tax or a lot of my other non game software.

I would say go with wine simply because it would be easier to get help with it. It's much more well known and is actively being developed.
