need help on Sparc 20

We found a Sparc 20 Server and I don't know jack about it. I would like to install Linux, but the system wont even boot up (has power but nothing on the screen). I opened the case and I don't see any NVRAM, do I need a NVRAM in able to get the video card to work?

You need NVRAM period to get it working.
