Hello. I'm starting to get into shell scripting, perticularly BASH. Are there any good resources out there which will help me learn shell scripting? Any good books on the subject?

There are 2 nhf's here on it. The one I did assumes you know programming concepts and some other programming language.

I know some Java, C++, PHP, and a couple of lines of gawk. Am I on the level with this?

you know java/c++, you're way ahead of the curve. Think of shell scripting as old dos batch files (way more flexible) or like basic programming. Yes, there are some things you'll have to learn to get comfortable with it, but you should have no problem.

Ok. Thanks. I'll check out the NHFs and I'll probably purchase a manual on this subject too. Thanks for all the help.
