Hello,
So, I've just got Samba working in our office (a test-run to look into having a Linux server eventually), but the Samba 2.2.0 binary is out now (I run 2.0.7).
Now, common sense would dictate: wait for the RPM. But I'd like to know how I would update my existing version using a tar'd file, versus an rpm. I'm concerned about folder locations, dependencies, etc...
I've looked at the NHF on compiling tarballs, but it seems to be written from the standpoint of new programs rather than ones you already have loaded.
Cheers for any help on this :)
