Compatibility

I would like to install a program under Mandrake 7.2 which I know is mostly compatible with Red Hat. The program I am looking at is made for RH 6.0. Will that program work with Mandrake?

the rpms between mandrake and redhat are about 99 % compatible - give it a shot! you may have newer libs than the rpm calls for, that should not matter. i still use rpms from redhat 5.0.

Almost certainly. The only real way to be certain is to try and see. About the only problem I have ever run into, is missing a required package.
