hi this is a problem i posted in the windows manager section, but upon doing further research, it turns out to be an xmms problem and not a bb problem - so i'm posting this question here - sorry if that's not exactly kosher.
i upgraded my kernel to 2.4.6, all of a sudden i can't receive http:// streams in blackbox. when i try to play a streaming radio station, i get the message
arts_init error: can't connect to aRts soundserver
my .xinitrc includes the lines
kwmsound &
kaudioserver &
etc.
xmms/streaming audio was working fine before the kernel upgrade. and this is important - it works with the new kernel when i am in kde?
when i switch xmms/options to use oss instead of aRts soundserver, i get sound, but it sounds like the damn CHIPMUNKS...
any suggestions? is there a way i can configure oss possibly to get the proper speed?
thanks again
