try printtool

It is a RedHat tool. It can be run from command line in an xterm.

I hate messing with printcap files.

This utility works great. I would think RedHat would install this by default.

I install it on every machine regardless of the distro.

Good Luck,

Use printtool.

It will set up your queue and list all the filters (drivers) available. If your printer is not listed, try a similiar model. Most HP's can use lesser model drivers, you just will not have access to the higher resolutions.
