I would like to use my e drive for linux installation, but still having the option of chosing Windows 2000 or Linux on Bootup

Linux can only boot if it's within the 1024 cylinder (within the first 8 gigs of your disk). I got around this problem by just putting a 7.8 meg boot partition at the front of the disk. So my order goes like this:

8 meg boot
14.5 gig Windows 2000
256 meg Swap partition
14.5 gig Linux partition

In the boot partition you install LiLo and tell it which partition Windows is on. There's lots of information out there on how to do this.

The first step is partitioning though. PartitionMagic is the best tool for that.

I suppose I could use just the LILO boot disk which I can create on installation of Suse to boot Linux.

:) So Use the boot disk to boot to Linux

:) No boot disk to boot to Win2k
