Can I plug in a 60.4GB udma-100 disk into my box and install it with the floppies in the udma66 directory on my Debian CD?

you shouldn't need any floppies.

if you're trying to hook it up to a PCI ATA controller then you'll need to insert modules for that controller, otherwise it should just be detected and you can go ahead and mount it.

No, it's just a plain ol' ata100 ide port sitting directly on my A7A266 (Asus) Mobo.
