Java in Opera or Konqueror

How do I get java working in Opera or Konqueror? I have read the konqueror.org Java howto which I followed word for word. Everything looks fine, but still no java. Any ideas for Konqueror or Opera?

I just got java working on my debian system by installing the jdk1.1 package (and then afterwards enabling java in the konqueror settings ofcourse). Obviously, I have no idea what the "apt-get install jdk1.1" command actually did to get java working. Debian spoils you in that respect.

You need to download java platform. There are several around, but only what i know is the one over at suns page (http://java.sun.com/j2se/?frontpage-javaplatform).

Then you need to enable it in Konqueror (Settings/Configure konqueror->konqueror browser/Java and JavaScript). I did try Opera once with that Opera5 sp1 (or similar number can't remember), but couldn't get the java to run in it.
