Debian Question

I have a debian box that I run all sorts of apps on at work. I am wondering if you can gain controll of these apps when I am using ssh from a remote sight. Like can I use the fg command or anything like that.

you should be able to run all the programs that don't require X

I realize that. I want to be able to take control of running applications, and work on them at home.
