i was just wondering how often does Patrick releases a new version of Slack, dont get my wrong i love 7.1 and im having no problems (rigth now anyway, http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/biggrin.gif) mandrake seems to s*** out a new version ever couple of months, im just curious so i thought i would ask.

Not as often as Mandrake, way more often than Debian http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif
But don't worry, he keeps the version numbers up with the rest of them. Hence the lack of a version 5 (and 6?).

LOL. According to Walnut Creek, the "official" distributor of Slackware cd sets, the next version will be out around December. Here is where I go the info:

I don't think that answer is smartass at all- Personally, i think it represents the pinnacle of a good release schedule. I wouldn't forgive them if they released it before it was done, and if it's done, why wait? Release it now!
Therefore, "When it's done" may not be very descriptive or helpful, but IMHO it is still an excellent answer.
