I discovered last night that I didn't install the tools to be able to configure, make, and make install new software.
The new box is debian 2.2.17
I'm spoiled by apt-get, most of what I need on this box can be obtained using it.
No problem I'll just install the tools need to be able to install software from src sources.
The list of packeages is overwhelming in the development and library area.
I don't know what to install.
I was trying to keep this install as small as possible. That's why I didn't select the tools at install time.
Any recommendations? Please help.
