Ok, I installed mozilla, no problems there, and it seems to be a lot better than netcrap6. Unforunately, I'm on an unreliable phone system, and although I can't say for sure that it's AMERITECH's fault http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif, I get random disconnects. Sometimes it happens after a couple minutes, sometimes hours can go by.

The question I have is: Is there a way to add plug-ins by hand? I got the java runtime env. installed, but it took me a while because my line would disconnect in the middle of the download. There doesn't seemto be a simple way to do that, even though i can download the file easily of ftp.

I haven't read every single page on the Mozilla site, but I've spent quite a while looking for an answer.

Thanks http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif

There is a plugins dir under the package dir where mozilla was installed. You should be able to copy the contents of the file there. I know for flash, it was a .so file and one other. Hope this helps.

yeah, I tried that, but netscape didn't see it. Not a big deal, I eventually got it downloaded, but i was hoping to avoid the same problem in the future. Thanks though. http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif

Ok, update, although it's a sucky one. I had to go through the whole update procedure to do it though. Part of the reason I wanted to do this is to bug hunt mozilla a little, and I didn't want to have to download java with each nightly build.

Anyways, i copyed the libjavaplugin.so to my new plugin directory, as well as the whole java folder, and it seems to work fine.

As far as flash goes, if you shutdown and restarted it, it should work. Maybe run it through a console window so you can see any errors as it tries to register the plugin, instead of using a regular icon.
