konqueror krashes konstantly

I just installed mandrake 7.2, and the konqueror doesn't work at all. I can get into kde fine, but as soon as I try to use the konqueror (by telling kde to open a url or by clicking on a folder) I get a message that it has segfaulted before it does anything. Here is the backtrace: it starts with (no debugging symbols found)...(no debugging symbols found)... over and over and then finally has:

Does anyone know how I can fix this? Other programs work fine. Thanks.

does it do the same thing if you click that little world looking icon at the bottom? (next to the life ring thingy?)

I don't have a world at the bottom. I know what you're talking about now because I just went to look at kde screenshots at kde.org and one of them has it, bt I don't. I have the home directory, the console, the control center and the desktop as well as the two menus (the k menu and the window list). However, if the little world would start the konqueror, then I assure you that it would crash because the konqueror segfaults no matter how I try to start it.
