Hi,
I want to install a Caldera OpenLinux eDesktop 2.4 on a desktop computer.
I've got a S3Trio 64 V2 Graphics card and the 1024x768 res with 16bit works just fine under windows.
Now, in the setup when chosing these setting and clicking the "Test these settings" button the screen flickers and shows weird colors. I've tried every other setting (including stuff like 640x480, 256) but the video mode just doesn't work.
There is nothing helpful on the calderasystems.com sites.
Ideas?

thx, cbfunky

Was your card listed when you were asked to choose one during the install? Did you choose the correct amount of video RAM?

You could try the Caldera userlists (http://www.mail-archive.com/users%40lists.calderasystems.com/) as there could be a solution.

eDesktop being nearly a year old now uses X3.3.6. Even though your video card is listed, I would suggest you verify with www.xfree86.org (http://www.xfree86.org) to see what versions of X actually support your video card.
