WinModems in Linux

I've heard that there is limited support for WinModems in Linux, but that it is possible to get them to work.

Can any of you list some PCI WinModems that will work in Linux. Also, is there a certain kernel version I should have to get the best support?

I'll probably just download the latest RedHat or Mandrake.

Has the version 2.4 kernel been released yet?

no the 2.4 kernel has not been released yet, early december is what everything is saying.
