I have just installed this firewall program and it looks to be a nice program with alot of nice features, but I have one problem with it. It logs COUNTLESS hits to port 65535. It logs about 2 hits on this port about 3 times a second! It is logging so many hits, it is bogging my PC down. I have also noticed that all of the supposed hits are coming from within my ISP's domain.

Any ideas?

Have you checked with your ISP? Maybe they use it to see if you are alive. What type of connection do you have?

I work at the ISP and I don't think we do that. That would be an explanation if it were coming from one central server, but the IPs are ranging across several subnets that we lease.

I have been trying to see what port 65535 is and the only thing I know about this port is that it is the highest port there is.

Needless to say, I am stumped. :)

Are you on a cable modem? Those have to be the most hacked boxes out there because of bandwidth/security. Not sure I have an answer to your question though, sorry.

Yes, I do have a cable modem. I guess I am going to investigate if it is the firewall displaying false hits or see what port 65535 does.
