I am a Linux convert to be. I currently am using MS Win 98. I have only been using it for about a month. Previously I was a devout Macintosh user. I switched from Mac OS to MS Windows for the greater value to hardware ratio and supposed improved stability (stability? -- Shhhh, I can hear you laughing.) Anyway, I realize what a mistake I made as far as the OS goes. So now I am looking into Linux.

With that out of the way, I notice a severe lack of any DTP programs on Linux. I have not been able to find any type of pagelayout software available to Linux anywhere. You can consider WordPerfect DTP if you want, but I don't.

I have e-mailed Corel about Ventura and Adobe about Framemaker (available for Unix.) I figured that I would at least get a reply about Ventura, as Corel is a supporter of Linux, but I didn't. I did not have much hope for a response from Adobe either, as they tend not to release much information about any product not shipping and they also seem to have a good relationship with Microsoft.

I even have tried to contact the people that produce the program Pagestream, which is avialable on Mac OS, Windows, Amiga and Atari (RIP).

Does anyone have any idea if there will be a DTP on Linux?
