I did a make modules and make modules install but if i look in /lib/modules/ there is no folder for 2.4.0-test9 Help PLZ can i just rename my modules folder for 2.2.16???? [This message has been edited by dgcartel (edited 01 November 2000).] PLBlaze 11-01-2000, 11:06 PM Test9? when test10 is out already http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif... Check again,if you installed it the proper way the 2.4.0-test9 filder should be there. Keep in mind that you might have to update your modutlis in order to use the new modules and insmod/modprobe utility (they use diff directory structure since test8) And yes,2.4.0-testxx is/should be faster not only under slack but on other linux distros too... dgcartel 11-01-2000, 11:12 PM I see now...I missed 1 step, make modules_install....Stoopid old me... http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif Strike 11-02-2000, 03:06 AM Originally posted by dgcartel: I see now...I missed 1 step, make modules_install....Stoopid old me... http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif Hmph. I've been having nothing but troubles with both 2.4.0-test9 and 10. In spite of make modules and make modules_install, my modules.dep is totally empty, and I can't just copy the 2.2.16 one because the directory structure is different now. Argh... anyone got ideas on this? justlinux.com
