But I'm behind a firewall and have no way to get it from CVS, and I don't have the money (or the credit card) to buy it from transgaming. Does anyone know of anywhere that has CVS snapshots for download? I'm really in a fix here.

That's too bad, I've been able to get more things to work with the new version then the last one (which came out on Christmas). Have you tried to get the source off of sourceforge? That would be the only way without a subscription for the binaries...
Can you turn off the firewall, or is school's/work??

Actually.. I probably didn't explain the situation clearly enough. My linux machine is on a lan with my dads windows box. The windows box is running AnalogX proxy which proxys socks, http, https, and ftp. If there's something I could change on the windows machine to make it work I'd love to know about it. As to getting the source from sourceforge, there didn't seem to be any there. There was only the cvs server address. I'll go check again though.
