Hullo,
I'm looking for software that will recursively search through a directory extracting information from pdf files. On one of our servers we have about 16gb (and growing) of pdf's. We are currently in the process of making these searchable and browsable. Is there any software out there that does this whether it be commercial or open source ?

I would appreciatte input from anyone that has done anything similar to this before.

thanks,
rich

I've never done this before, but the Adobe Acrobat Catalog software may do what you have in mind. From adobe: "You can use the Adobe Acrobat Catalog command to create a full-text index of your PDF documents and document collections. A full-text index is a searchable database of all the text in a document or set of documents."

I think it's included in the Adobe Acrobat software.
