Uptime to last shutdown

Is there a command or a log to show the uptime to the last shutdown? Crash?

"w w" will tell you how long the system has been running since the last boot.
/var/log/messages gives you details of the last boot.

There's also the command: uptime

I know w, uptime and /var/log/messages. They show the uptime SINCE last reboot/boot. I want to know if there is an uptime record to previous shutdown/crash.
