I know Linux Central has the boxed set, but I'm curious to know how far ahead they are in the supply chain.

i was looking at it in wal-mart the other day, after somebody asked me a few days earlier if i already had it; call it a week, total, since it was first spotted there. i didn't buy it because i don't quite see how it could have been officially released *after* it was available at wal-mart!?! the box didn't say anything about being a beta, pre-release, or anything but Mandrake 7.2
got news, anybody? http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/confused.gif

Hi:

I read a post about this very issue somewhere.

Seems the had to meet an Oct 31st on-the -shelf requirement for a reason I can't recall--and so shipped 10,000 boxed sets to Wal Mart and another vendor or two.

I gather that it was post-beta, but not the same as what will be shipping in a few weeks.

Problem will be determining what's what, as they will look the same on the box.

I'll just wait for a while. I'm already running reiserfs and can live without the usb stuff for the moment.
