Hi all, I'm relatively new to the linux world, especially in respect to mail. I've been working with windows based email servers for a while now, and am looking to change over to linux. What I'd like to find out is what is a good pop3 server for linux? I've got many virtual domains, and possibly over 2000 or so email accounts combined. I'd like to hear what people could recommend for it. I've taken a look at a couple of email servers with mysql support, and I do like that, however I was just way confused with the configuration, and it was hard to find any support. (either that, or no one wanted to give a newbie support. =) Any suggestions are appreciated!

I would really recommend looking into the OS FreeBSD if you are planing on setting up a pop server maybe even the e-mail program twig. Just don't use linux for a large corpartation server cause linux has alot of security holes to start out even fresh from the install. FreeBSD was made I belive for networking.
www.freeBSD.org,,, (http://www.freeBSD.org,,,) free too.

Thanks, that's a good suggestion. I've been told that many times. I will have to look into it. Are there any good POP3/SMTP servers that you can recommend for FreeBSD?

I would like a good easy to start with mail sever, pop is fine. I would eventually like to setup an imap account, but pop is more than adequate for my needs. Anyone have any recommendations?
