Hi

I had attempted to load suse a while back but I was unsucessful. Per a reply a person suggested that I download and do the debian installation on disks. I downloaded the disk images etc..
I had also used fips to partition the hard drive of the Compaq deskpro (486) cds 724 so that I could leave windows 95 on it and have linux on it as well.
My question is two fold.
How do you designate the partition as a linux partition? or make sure that you are identifying the correct drive?
and
How do you create or install a boot manager so that it will not always boot up Windows 95??

Thank you

The version of FIPS I used just splits a Windows partition into two smaller Windows partitions. If that's what yours did, you have to delete the second Windows partition, leaving space for you to create Linux partitions during the installation process.
