Anyone else having a problem signon on to AOL using GAIM (TOC or OSCAR)? I'm able to sign on fine with AOL's software, but not with GAIM.

Nope, no problems at all using TOC.

Well, I'm trying to use either TOC or OSCAR but I can't seem to logon. Actually, it does log on, but a split second after that, it disconnects me. What ports are you guys using? Thanks a mil

I'm using the "straight out of the box" settings.

TOC host: toc.oscar.aol.com:9898
login host: toc.oscar.aol.com:5190

HTH.

Check the GAIM webpage for an updated version. I know that occasionally(sp?) they have to release a new version because AOL blocks them from using the AOL servers and they need to include a work around.
Anyway first see if you have the newest one.

Well, TOC seems to be working fine now, maybe I'm just an idiot. But OSCAR still logs me off as soon as it logs in. Wait, just checked the webpage again. Guess it took a while to get the update up but indeed AOL is blocking OSCAR again. Anybody know why OSCAR is so precious to AOL? Thanks
