after a good week of work, i finally got X to work in slack 8!! definately a happy moment for me, but when i log in, i can only see the top half of the screen and dont know how to change this..why is this happening? i dont wanna have come this far and have it all ruined!!

Did you try xfree86setup? One thing you can do is ctrl + alt + + (yeah, push the + button) to see if you have other resolutions already configured.

neither of those worked :(

i think i gotta try some different monitor settings ?

Did you press the plus " + " sign on the numeric keypad?

Are you able to see more of the screen by pushing your mouse cursor against the sides of the screen? If you can, then you have a virtual window.

nevermind..i switched resolutions and turns out virtual desktop IS on..
i just gotta used to window maker now..
