Help with RealPlayer plugin

I've just installed RealPlayer 7 and got it to work as a stand-alone program. However, Netscape 6 absolutely doesn't see the RealPlayer plugin at all even though Netscape has no problem recognizing the shockwave plugins. I installed Netscape in /usr/local/netscape, and I have rpnp.so in ~/.netscape/plugins as well as /usr/local/netscape/plugins. How do I get the Realplayer plugin to work with Netscape?
