There are several ways to make them work, however. Many will run under wine, and lots of people have good results with Windows emulators, which allow a virtual machine to be installed. My experience has been that, after a while, I had found substitutes for everything I wanted to do in the Linux world, and my "need" for those .exe apps went away. HTH, Ray bdg1983 06-02-2001, 09:59 AM Wine works with many Windows applications. Checkout www.winehq.org (http://www.winehq.org) for faq's, documentation at lists of know apps that run under wine. Most distros already install wine automatically. There are other alternatives such as VMWare and Win4Lin ?? I think that's correct. I personally use VMWare ( www.vmware.com (http://www.vmware.com) ) myself and find it to be quite good. VMWare is a virtual machine and allows you to install a guest os in a VM with Linux as the host machine. darklore 06-03-2001, 08:14 AM What year is this Wine? Is it semi-sweet or dry?, and whats it taste like?? :D Derango 06-03-2001, 10:46 AM Well...most bottles of it taste ok, some of them taste great. However, once you get a bad bottle, it leaves a sour taste in your mouth that won't go away until you are examined and a doctor plucks out all the wine bits that have implanted themselves into the roof of your mouth. ;) darklore 06-03-2001, 11:08 AM Hectic and gadzooks!! That sounds totally awfull,,, raining penguines!! Derango 06-03-2001, 12:29 PM Hehe, wine works rather well. Just don't expect too much out of it. If you want to run some simple programs, its perfect. However, if you need to get somthing fairly complex running, the support isn't there yet. justlinux.com
