A different Real Player prob

I've got Real Player 7 installed from RPM. It came from the old Maximum Linux cd. It worked perfectly in Mandrake 7 but now I use mandrake 8. (This is my last glitch) It installed fine and in root it runs fine but in user it starts then gives an error to teh effect that the sound device is in use by another application and unavailable. What gives? For those who HAVE gotten it loaded have you seen this? No biggie, just nice if I can fix it.

I had a similar problem a while back. It was with XMMS, though, so I'm not sure if it is relevant. I had to uncheck a box to turn off the Enlightened Sound daemon. Apparently, there can be some conflicts if the KDE and Gnome sound systems are running at the same time.
