I don't get it, I had wine working for one session now it doesn't work at all...all I get is this "Wine failed with return code 139" on every thing I try to run! From notepad to Outlook! I even tried to reconfigure it, hmmm...might have something to do with my Windows partition biteing the big one right now...
When wine asks for a 'fake windows' does this have to be on a fat32 drive, or can it be on an ext3 partition?
**bah**
This is codeweavers wine running on RedHat 7.2

the fake windows is just a directory on your linux box that will hold all your windows stuff. like i have /usr/wine/fake_windows/SIERRA/Half-life
Try reconfiguring it with default settings (also you want to install it in a users directory (/home/blah/.wine/fake_windows) cause it doesn't let you configure it as root).

does it says something about sockets? if yes (and try itout anyway, it wont hurt) remove $home/.wine/winserver-SERVER/sockets (i suppose $home/.wine is the dir of your wine)

Went ahead and did the subscribtion to Transgaming and installed the binary for WineX (after removing wine) and have been seeing what works under that. So far so good, lots of problems you would expect from a program that basicly is an Insta-Port for Windows apps.
Very cool though, I like it a lot.

is winex free? by the way, wine is great, you simply have to remove ~/.wine/wineserver-SERVER/socket from time to time

The source is free, so you can compile it yourself. To get the binary you need to subscribe.
