Brian Eccentric 05-01-1999, 10:46 PM You know you're welcome here. You're from the HardwareCentral family! http://www.linuxplanet.com/discussion/smile.gif ricobob 05-16-1999, 07:39 PM NOW PLAYING ON A NETWORK NEAR YOU! Darth Maul Gater strikes again!!! Once long ago in the first tri-milenium, a young begger and thief was combing the back alleys and dirty garages of the blue planet in the 3rd solar system from Venturina. This young opportunist struck up a deal with Maul Lucufer himself and quickly adapted the ways of the dark and greedy side. Upon stealing a valuable OS from some unsuspecting trader on the marble moon, young Gater soon was to discover how well stealing and taking advantage of other hard working souls really was to his liking (not to mention highly profitable). For his efforts,Bill Gater was rewarded by his mentor Maul Lucufer with the coveted "Darth Maul" title, upon the announcment that a new OS would be forthcoming in the next milenium. Which of course would only reap more doom and death as it spreads across the eonces of time and space. Filled with a deadly set of viruses to destroy the logic of all who use it,the new OS will be the certain end of all user intellegence as we know it. Alas ... there is one hope. A new comer in the world of OS. From the planet Europia. He may hold the key to retaining logic and human intellegence in check. But his resources are small. But there is a rumor he may have a devoted pack of followers. If he could only get them together in one accord to refine and complete the OS's GUI so everyone could easliy follow its logic. At this point it is still encoded to help it from falling into the wrong hands and be abolished in favor of "Darth Maul" Gater's dreaded OS2000. Oh, Jedi Warrior Linuxia please don't give up. Save us from the dreaded enemy "Darth" Gater! "Torval ... let go -- feel the SOURCE !" Friends: Please feel free to pass this on to others who have seen the good side of the "Source". Kevin930 05-24-1999, 02:10 AM One other thing - what do you guys think is the best distribution of Linux? Someone suggested FreeBSD... Geoff 05-24-1999, 04:19 AM except that FreeBSD isn't linux http://discussions.linuxplanet.com//smile.gif Kevin930 05-24-1999, 05:36 AM shows what I know... http://discussions.linuxplanet.com//redface.gif Geoff 05-25-1999, 01:22 AM Yeah well it's all a bit pedantic I must admit, but BSD-lovers will get pissed at you if you call their OS "Linux" http://discussions.linuxplanet.com//smile.gif Sensei 05-29-1999, 12:54 PM fressbsd is not linux its unix.....it is also a more stable server solution and not really a desktop OS. you can run it as a desktop OS, but there aint much you going to find fun on it except if you like setting up servers and what not? yahoo runs freebsd and so does hotmail.. justlinux.com
